How can I get my 7 year olds to move around on offense? They do fairly well in practice, but in a game they freeze... I know they're nervous, but there has to be some way. I give them starting positions at high post and low post and have taught them how to pick and roll, but they just don't grasp it in a game. Any suggestions, drills, etc?
P.S. - I have an 8 year old on my team who is a decent player, but when things don't go his way, he throws a fit and cries... in a game as well as in practice. I'm about at the point of kicking him off the team. Any suggestions about how to handle him? He's been my player for 2 years, & I don't want to give up on him, but I think he needs to suffer the consequences of his actions... HELP!!

You should realise your players are still just kids and that Basketball is just a "game" and especially at this age should be played with the EMPHASIS ON FUN.

Structure can be implemented easily later in life. You should just concentrate on basic fundamentals and the rules of basketball that allow the kids to play the game. If your players play with enthusiasm that overtakes principles of a set offense then they probably are having fun and that should be your goal.

On your P.S. if the boy is playing because he is pretty good but doesn't enjoy the game then I would encourage him to find something that he enjoys. If he is just having trouble dealing with the emotions of sports then as a coach you should try and help him deal with his feelings.
