CHARLES DICKENS
Charles Dickens Charles Dickens was born at Landport in Portsmouth, England, on February 7 1812. He died at Gadshill, near Rochester, Kent, England, on June 9 1870. Dickens was arguably the most popular novelist of the century, and one of the greatest humorists that England has produced.
