ALICE WALKER
name Alice Walker was born on February 9, 1944, in Eatonton, Georgia, USA. This American writer, essayist, and poet, is probably best known for her third novel, The Color Purple, for which she won the Pulitzer Prize in 1983. The novel was made into a hugely successful movie in 1985, directed by Steven Spielberg.
