The use of other hosts is acceptable providing that they offer similar facilities and reliable hosting of a comparable standard.

Now put it all into practice.

Three pages are constructed correctly using HTML for own or "Jenny’s" website.

Pages should include the following:

Internal and external links. These may be textual or image based.

ALT tags should be provided for each image.

Link colours should be specified for text links

Incorrectly labelled, non-functioning, poorly positioned, sized or inappropriately coloured links will lose marks.

The site will contain

The site will contain: Images and video clips within the site using:

  • One animated GIF
  • One sound file
  • One mov. File

correctly linked and operational.

 

Explain how image size and type can affect download times.

This explanation should include:

Reference to bandwidth and high speed connections
The use of modem connections
Data transmission speeds
Image types i.e. .jpg .bmp .gif
The need to size images correctly

Include:
The need to specify image size within a document using HTML.
Interlacing

A table
The table will consist of at least Two columns and one row
or
One column and two rows

The border can be used if appropriate.

Better examples may include multiple columns and rows – some of which may be merged.

Colour, in the form of border or background fills, may be provided.

Explain how these can be used to organise information.

Include:
Vertical and horizontal control over alignment of text or images.

The use of borders and "spot" colouring of cells.
Visible or invisible tables.
Creating menus
Creating forms
Creating page headers.

Frames and a no-frame option.

This will be correctly coded into the page, and will function correctly.

Content for each frame will be named or will be selectable from a link.

Alternative no-frame provision will be provided.

Explain how these can be used to organise information.

Identify that:-
Frames can provide for the division of the screen into specific areas.

Each frame can display a specific document, graphic or file i.e. .mov or one or more frame cell(s) can be made to display one of a variety of pages upon demand.\

  • Frames allow scrolling within each "cell"
  • Frame segments can be moveable or fixed.
  • Frames can be with or without borders.


    An input form asking for feedback from customers.
  • This will consist of at least four fields.
  • These fields will be text format.
  • The size will be set correctly, and the maxlength set.
  • The name of the field will be appropriate for its contents.
  • Alignment will be set correctly, and the fields will tab in the correct order.
  • Submit and clear form buttons will be included.
  The website URL is correctly identified and emailed to the tutor.
